A-Rod is still lying.

He claims that he started using 'roids when he went to Texas after signing the big contract. That sounds like bullshit. I'll tell you why. Because all the difference between his last three years in Seattle and his three years in Texas can be explained by his home ballpark. I mean all of it. 100%. In fact, more than 100%. The Rangers have a hitter's ballpark, but Seattle was a very tough place to put up offensive numbers. Look at A-Rod's ROAD numbers. (Avg HR-RBI OPS)

You don't need to be Steven Hawking to see what I'm driving at. In A-Rod's last three years in Seattle he averaged 25 homers and 68 RBI on the road. In his three years in Arlington, he averaged 23 homers and 59 RBI on the road, with a batting average 50 points lower than his road average with the Mariners. If he just started taking steroids when he moved to Texas, he definitely wasn't taking the kind that make you good at baseball.

Now look at the HOME numbers he put up in Arlington vs Seattle

It's obvious why his numbers improved in Texas. It was his home park, not steroids. He averaged 17 homers and 55 RBI per year in Seattle's home park, but soared to 29 homers and 73 RBI per year in Arlington's home park. That is a mammoth difference. His mean batting average at home soared from .281 to .333, while his road average was actually declining by a similar amount!

Possible conclusions? I don't believe that he started using 'roids when he went to Texas. I just don't buy it. His numbers improved because of his home park, and because a guy aged 25-27 is normally expected to perform better than he did at ages 22-24. It appears to me that IF he was taking 'roids in Texas (which he admits), then he must also have been taking them in Seattle as well.

I ask you this: when would a man be more likely to take performance-enhancing drugs - AFTER he had just signed a monstrous guaranteed contract, or in his last years BEFORE being eligible for free agency?

I can't say what happened for sure, of course, but I can say that he did not actually perform better in Texas. Therefore, his explanation reeks of mierda del toro.
